New York
New York; the iconic city, known so well by many for its endless appearances in movies and TV shows. The shopping and dining capital of the world, the trailblazer in the arts and architecture, it’s the city of all cities, but no matter how many times you visit the chances are you’ll never see it all, which is always a great reason to return.
Broken down in to five distinct neighbourhoods, New York is made up of the well-known and glamorous Manhattan, trendy Brooklyn home of the original coffee culture and craft-ale scene, foodies’ paradise Queens, vibrant Harlem and Staten Island home to some of the best views in the city.
Its iconic and legendary landmarks speak for themselves; the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Fifth Avenue, Central Park, the Empire State Building and the Rockerfeller Center, the list goes on. But, whilst New York preserves its history and charm so well, it's also a city pioneering the way for new cuisine, art and green spaces with attractions like Little Island at Hudson River Park and Summit One Vanderbilt. It’s true there are so many famous attractions in New York but often the best experiences happen when you’re taking a walk and you turn a corner only to see a building from a film you love, or experience unexpected live music in a bar and make friends you never knew you needed. To see New York is one thing, but to really experience it is another.
Get up high! In the last few years the rooftop scene in New York has really boomed. Everyone is going up in the world for a chance to take in some of New York’s biggest and best views. Choose from the classics such as the Empire State Building or Top of the Rock or explore something new like the One World Observatory Deck. Opened in 2021, Summit One Vanderbilt offers more than just views, it's three different levels and with different, unique experiences, whilst offering arguably the best views of New York from an observation deck. Rooftop bars are also very popular with new openings at 1 Hotel in Brooklyn and The Edge Observation Deck at Hudson Yards.
It's showtime!
Broadway is back with a bang and is currently showing favourites such as Hamilton, award-winning Moulin Rouge, Wicked and more recent shows such as Hadestown and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. For sports fans the Knicks, Yankees and Mets are all back open for business.
